My Origin
... because Everyone is the Hero of Their Own Story
🙋♂️ I’m Nissan (🔊 nee-shaan). My name means flag in Bengali, since I was born on my country’s Independence Day. I’m a 32 year-old male currently living in Khulna, Bangladesh.
I grew up in a middle-class family in the 2000s with limited access to tech and the internet. But I’ve always been a technical person as far as I remember. I got my first smartphone in 2010 and my first computer in 2013 when I started a Computer Science degree at university.
Even without a computer, I was active in mobile theming, app modding, and custom ROM communities. I even hosted and managed a wordpress.org site for them in 2011-12 with the tiny 2.5-inch screen of my Nokia 5630 XpressMusic. That blog had over 185k+ views from 70k+ unique visitors.
My programming journey started with C in 2013. However, I wanted to make apps for my Android phone, so I started learning Java and Android Studio. This is the first app I made following the release of Material Design and new architecture guidelines from Google.

After I graduated in 2017, I started working as a freelance Android developer and made around 15 apps in two years. Then I decided to focus on designing in Figma because I always felt inadequate when designing app UIs. It was a good decision because I had so much fun designing my portfolio at that time.

Around the same time, I also started learning JavaScript to make a Chrome extension for myself. But after I got a taste of the innovation happening in web development, I never looked back. Since then, I have fully committed to Full Stack development. You can see what I’ve been up to on my projects and experience page.
